Who we are
This notice explains how Fraser Matcham, trading as Legal Workflows (“we”, “us”), uses personal data collected through this website, including its waiting list. Legal Workflows is run by Fraser Matcham as a sole trader, who is the controller of that data.
For anything about your personal data, including the requests described below, email frasermatcham@gmail.com. We deal with privacy requests by email only.
This notice covers this website and its waiting list only.
What we collect
When you join the waiting list
- your name;
- your work email address;
- the name of your firm or organisation;
- your role;
- the size of your firm or legal team, chosen from a list (just me, 2 to 5 people, 6 to 20 people, 21 to 50 people, 51 to 200 people, more than 200 people);
- that you gave consent, the wording you agreed to, and when.
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider processes technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. When you send the waiting list form, we use your IP address for up to ten minutes to limit repeated attempts. We do not store it with your details.
This website does not set cookies, and it does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To keep your place on the waiting list and contact you about it and about our launch. Our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.
- To run the website securely and prevent misuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and safe (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or make decisions about you by automated means.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who process it for us, on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website;
- Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (“AWS”), which sends us an email with the details you give when you join the waiting list, from its London (eu-west-2) region;
- Google, which provides the email inbox (Gmail) where that email arrives. The waiting list is kept there.
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
AWS sends the waiting list email from its London region, in the UK. Vercel and Google may process personal data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by a safeguard recognised under UK data protection law, as applicable to each provider: for example, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for a provider certified under it, or the International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses in that provider's data processing terms. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep it
We delete your waiting list details:
- six months after we invite you to join Legal Workflows, if you have not joined by then;
- within 30 days of your asking us to remove them, or of your withdrawing your consent;
- and in any case no more than 24 months after you signed up.
Whichever of these comes first applies. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs for a limited period under its own policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it;
- ask for the data you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email frasermatcham@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the details you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect.
